What is an enzyme?
Name for particular proteins that accelerate or facilitate various chemical processes in the organism. When used in cleaning products, enzymes support the breaking down or "dissolving" of organic soiling e.g. in detergents and stain removal products. Enzymes are highly effective protein cells that carry out specific jobs in small quantities and at low temperatures. The oldest known enzyme product is gall soap. Depending upon their action, a distinction is made between: amylases, cellulases, lipases and proteases.
